age of dreams – richard green

The verdict

richard green crafts a sweeping neoclassical meditation on childhood wonder, layering piano and strings into something truly beautiful

'age of dreams' arrives as the centrepiece of green's ambitious three-part musical journey through human life, and it earns that weight completely. the track opens the 'first light' ep, which explores childhood as the first chapter in a trilogy spanning youth, adulthood and legacy. what green captures here is that boundless imagination we carry as children, when possibility feels infinite and dreams haven't yet learned limits. the arrangement is lush but never overwrought, with classical piano and string quartet weaving together in ways that feel both timeless and contemporary. there's real tenderness in how the melody unfolds, patient and unhurried, letting the emotional core breathe. it's a warm, sophisticated and i just love the concept.

richard green is a milan-based musician, guitarist and composer whose eleven years in london shaped both his craft and his degree in music. since his debut 'dark horses' in 2020, he's shown remarkable range, moving from electronic experiments to the neoclassical territory he now inhabits. this trilogy project, completed with 'a journey' and 'the circle closes' in 2024 before 'first light' in 2025, sees him collaborating with pianist irene veneziano and string quartet archimia. two more projects are already in the works for 2026, spanning melodic electro and a funk-rock-hiphop hybrid. that kind of restless creativity is exciting to see. a great track.

thank u for making this richard green 🎹
