pavement – flowerbroth
The verdict
“flowerbroth's 'pavement' drifts through seasons and heartache with a hazy, gorgeous slacker rock zinger”
'pavement' opens with guitar wrapped in fog, that dreamy lo-fi texture where everything feels in a next door dimension. it's a song about cycles: seasons turning, love shifting, pain that settles in and then lifts. flowerbroth wrote it during a rough patch, and you can hear that in how the melody moves, vocals deep in the mix, almost dissolving into the shimmer around them, and the whole arrangement has that slacker rock ease where nothing pushes too hard. i love that it sounds like it's been recorded on a tape in the corner of a practice room; all shoegaze blur, dream pop warmth in the centre, and a mellow sadness running through it all. it's a tender, beautifully hazy single.
flowerbroth is a 21-year-old bedroom artist from syracuse, new york, building songs alone and letting them find their shape. 'pavement' arrived on 10 march 2025, a release that carries real weight despite its soft edges. there's something honest about making music this way: no studio sheen, no outside hands, just one person working through what needs working through. the lo-fi approach suits the emotional register here, and we're 100% behind it. need more of this, it's great.
thank u for making this flowerbroth 🌿
