friend of the blog mykungfu is the solo project of winterthur musician domi schreiber, who first developed his own songs while touring at home and abroad as a guitarist. since 2009, the project has grown into a fully formed live and recording identity, appearing on international stages in different line-ups. this release introduces the upcoming ep a burning heart, marking a fresh step from an artist with steady roots and a clear melodic instinct. let's have more of this in 2026, it's a beautiful track.

catlea writes from a deeply personal place, turning recovery, dependency and emotional reckoning into a song about choosing yourself before waiting to be chosen. recorded across barcelona, london, cincinnati and israel with long-term producer jason boshoff, guitarist oscar garcia-bragado and strings from roni seller, the track opens the forthcoming aftermath ep. vulnerable but empowering, it feels like a mirror for anyone trying to turn a difficult pattern into a healthier future. we all need a bit of that these days, so we're fully on board. a great single.

alchemy is a vivid indie-rock track from tomorrow will be like yesterday, the latest ep by nashville band bad island easter. written by matt lowell and aaron shepherd, it carries the feel of a band pushing their sound forward, balancing guitar-led drive, synth detail and a strong sense of collective identity. i love the blend of indie, electronic and acoustic textures into a kind of dark, funky indie beast. it really works, and melodically there's also a lot to love in this track.
bad island easter are the songwriting trio of aaron shepherd on vocals and bass, sebastian mogan on synth and matthew lowell on guitar, with jack shepherd joining the live line-up on drums. produced by sebastian mogan and mixed by common man studios, the ep also includes another original single, a kinks cover and live recordings from the band’s first headline show at the basement in nashville. it feels all the right kind of loose, inventive and full of character. i'll be diving into the ep this weekend, cos i love this.
