sean macleod is an irish singer-songwriter from scarriff, a founding member of dublin band cisco who has been writing and recording for more than three decades. his solo work draws on the beatles, david bowie, the beach boys, the stone roses and blur, filtering those influences through an ear for composition and unconventional tuning. 'that's when the earth becomes a star' is his fifth solo album, arriving september 2026. he's also an author and producer, someone who clearly treats songwriting as a craft worth taking seriously. he's one of the reasons writing a blog is such a joy; finding gems out there that far more people should hear. essential stuff.
