today we’re literally all about the sharp guitars, emotional weight and restless energy. from groove-led indie rock to emotionally charged alt sounds, these four zingers are what we’re shouting about. so let’s get stuck in.
as soon as tomorrow – the adel gomez band
the adel gomez band deliver a vibrant indie rock anthem filled with a whole lot of warmth and heart
as soon as tomorrow rides in with lovely chugging guitar lines, rolling grooves and a steady classic rock backbone. the track balances a great sense of uplifting melodies with a reflective or nostalgic edge. it’s got a nice and easy sense of movement that keeps everything feeling loose and immediate, and by the chorus comes around it’s lighters in the air kinda territory.
the adel gomez band are an aberdeen collective blending groove rock, soul and indie influences into something full of character. this latest release captures the feeling of chasing something uncertain while pushing past doubt, with vintage pop influences sitting tastefully beside modern production touches. if you like your indie bright, catchy and singalong-ready, this might just be your new favourite song.
thank u for making this the adel gomez band 🙌
let’s just go – sweet mess
sweet mess bring their trademark fearless hooks and explosive energy to this punchy rock banger
let’s just go bursts forward in the best possible way with trademark gritty guitars, big drums and huge vocal delivery throughout. the track captures that instant feeling of wanting out, turning frustration into something loud, direct and packed with attitude without losing the lovely strong melody at its core. the chorus is the standout moment, a real hellraiser this one.
friend of the blog sweet mess have built a reputation around theatrical live shows across phoenix, and their transition into original material feels completely natural here. drawing from classic female-fronted rock while leaning into modern alt rock weight, the band channel raw energy into a track that feels built for packed venues and late night drives alike. we love this, can’t wait for more.
thank u for making this sweet mess 🔥
burn – solum
solum’s new single pushes into hazy, dark electronic territory with fantastic intensity
burn blends a heady mix of distorted textures, hazy electronics and sharp emotional tension into something genuinely immersive and unpredictable. the production is brilliant, with a short, punchy run time and it all just kinda feels restless throughout. we’ve got lush chords with a whole lot of 5ths, sub bass and a really good melody gives a underlying sense of heartbreak and frustration.
london artist solum writes, produces and performs everything himself, giving this release a deeply personal feel. i love it when artists do everything themselves, giving the ability to create their own world. and it feels solum’s creating his; inspired by electronic experimentation and emotional alt pop, the track explores betrayal and revenge without losing its intimacy. it’s a really exciting single, and an instant spotify follow for me.
thank u for making this solum 🖤
toyota hellfire – fistpump!
fistpump! combine emotional rock and towering dynamics to incredible effect on this emo-rock banger
toyota hellfire opens with a lovely wee guitar sequence, before crashing into dense guitars, driving percussion and soaring melodic sections. the guitar work is great here, shifting between delicate moments and BIG emotional peaks, giving a kind of widescreen emo atmosphere that i love. best of all is this chorus, it’s bloody fantastic.
birmingham band fistpump! pull together midwest emo and post-hardcore influences while keeping everything kind of raw. after building momentum on the local live circuit, this debut single feels like a strong introduction to a band already comfortable balancing vulnerability, aggression and huge hooks in equal measure. an incredible debut, if i’m honest, more of this please lads.
thank u for making this fistpump! ⚡
