this week’s picks move between widescreen folk, psych-pop confidence, raw indie rock and cinematic vocal drama. there’s a strong sense of individuality running through each release, with artists leaning into instinct, atmosphere and emotionally direct songwriting.
silvia’s not in the oven – good juj
good juj turns intrusive thoughts into wonderfully sharp, emotionally charged indie storytelling
silvia’s not in the oven blends spoken word delivery with soft alternative rock textures and a touch of restless punk energy. the vocal approach is brilliant, and really unique, and has a dream pop texture that works. the track moves with a conversational intensity, letting anxious thoughts spiral and collide against stripped-back instrumentation that keeps everything feeling raw and immediate.
new jersey artist good juj first gained attention through viral parody rap before shifting toward something far more personal and creatively direct. this release explores the realities of ocd beyond the stereotypes, focusing on obsessive thoughts, guilt and emotional overload with honesty and precision. there is humour woven into the chaos, but the vulnerability underneath gives the song its real weight. it feels like the beginning of an artist fully stepping into her own voice, and we absolutely love it.
thank u for making this good juj 💫
freakuency – eyrin
eyrin delivers hypnotic indie pop with bags of confidence, charisma and a sharp psychedelic edge
freakuency blends a heady mix of bluesy guitar lines, live percussion and kinda playful pop-rock energy into a track that feels instantly magnetic. the groove stays nice and loose and sensual while the chorus lands hard with a catchy self-assuredness that gives the whole song momentum. it all fits beautifully, with the artwork too, as vibey, offkilter indie pop; which is basically one of our fave genres.
barcelona artist eyrin builds her sound around transformation, femininity and self-expression, and this single captures all three with ease. recorded with live instrumentation and shaped through close collaboration with session musicians, the track feels organic while still carrying a polished modern edge. there is something carefree in the delivery, but also a clear message about identity and refusing to shrink for anyone else. essential stuff.
thank u for making this eyrin 💫
make the world stand still – kaitlin corbett jones
kaitlin corbett jones brings huge emotion and cinematic scale to this soaring pop moment
make the world stand still unfolds with sweeping orchesation, towering vocals and a strong emotional pull that never feels overdone. the track moves between intimate reflection and full anthem territory, with kaitlin corbett jones commanding every section through sheer vocal control. it’s a huge tune, with a whole lot of emotions, and if i had a lighter to hand, it would definitely be in the air.
originally from wisconsin, kaitlin corbett jones combines classical training with contemporary songwriting instincts in a way that feels expansive and theatrical. her background in opera and live performance gives the release a sense of discipline, but the emotional delivery keeps it grounded and accessible. this latest project feels designed for big stages and big feelings, built around themes of connection, compassion and resilience. it’s a great single, and we’re looking forward to the follow up.

fight – roman ceglov
roman ceglov captures raw instinct and unfiltered indie rock energy on the stunning new single ‘fight’
fight runs on the best kind of fuzzy guitar tones, live-session immediacy and a rough-edged rhythm section that gives a whole lot of punch. the recording keeps everything direct and loose, letting the emotional tension inside the track stay front and centre throughout. the standout is the fuzzed-up vocal melody and hammond solo which gives this whole piece a kind of great ‘gangster film car chase‘ vibe.
roman ceglov is a russian-born songwriter now based in austria whose approach to recording prioritises instinct over perfection. written years ago during a period heavily inspired by garage rock and the white stripes, this release still feels immediate and alive. recording mostly live with minimal takes gives the track its wonderful grit. it’s fantastic, check it out below.
