pensacola rollin' – brandon sandefur

The verdict

“brandon sandefur turns his pensacola love affair into a warm, sun-soaked slice of americana that shines bright”

'pensacola rollin'' is a song that reads like a love letter to a place rather than a person. co-produced by james adkins and brandon sandefur, it works the beach ball, the sandshaker, hub stacy's, the three mile bridge and the blue angels into its portrait of life along the florida coast. rather than treating the state as generic scenery, sandefur draws on landmarks he knows firsthand, giving the whole thing a distinctly local point of view. the accompanying video carries that spirit onto the screen, with sandefur performing guitar on the beach as the blue angels soar overhead. at its heart, this is about the pleasure of liking where life has taken you. it's an easy, full-band country rock single with genuine warmth in its bones. or between its toes.

brandon sandefur is a houston native and former all-conference linebacker who's spent decades building a life around music. he got his start on the texas dance hall circuit with a little bit of texas before relocating to nashville in 1996, where walking backwards produced two gac top 10 singles and an international line-dance favourite. after twenty-three years in music city, he stepped away to pensacola, and that shift shows in how present this one feels. it's a wonderfully put together track, more please brandon.

thank u for making this brandon sandefur 🌴
