TODAY’S POP PICKS

today’s pop picks move through soulful clarity, warm analogue city-pop, experimental indie-pop and summer-ready dance energy. these four tracks turn healing, change, unusual texture and forward motion into bold, emotionally driven pop moments.

truth always shows its face – keesha blair

keesha blair turns inner clarity into the most soulful, healing pop single you’ll hear this summer

truth always shows its face is a reflective soul-pop track built around emotional honesty, self-trust and the moment denial finally gives way to clarity. its tone is lovely and calm but there’s power here. moving through pain, questioning and release with a message that feels grounded in healing rather than blame. it doesn’t get much smoother than this, and the mood here is genuinely impeccable.

keesha blair is a songwriter, music creator and custom music director whose work centres emotional restoration, boundaries and empowerment. through divine purpose music, she creates songs rooted in meaning and message, giving listeners space to return to their own voice. this release looks inward, asking what happens when truth keeps showing up until it can no longer be ignored. it feels steady, restorative and brilliantly freeing. we’d expect this one to do very well, it’s fantastic.

thank u for making this keesha blair 🕊️

won’t let nobody hurt you – danny mcguire

danny mcguire makes city change feel wonderfully warm, dreamy and protective

won’t let nobody hurt you is a warm-hearted and lush indie-pop track built around shimmering guitars, warm analogue textures and a hopeful, determined pulse. what first sounds like a love song opens into something more layered, a conversation between a city and one of its citizens as change becomes impossible to avoid. it’s produced like a dream, and genuinely soars – in a calm indie way – by the time the chorus hits. i really love danny’s vocal too.

danny mcguire is a scottish-born, london-based independent musician relaunching his solo work with a sound that feels intimate but expansive. initially recorded in his home studio, the song later developed with producer brett shaw at 123 studios in peckham. shaped by past lives in amsterdam, toronto, brisbane and glasgow, it carries a nomadic emotional weight while finding its centre in london. this is fantastic indie/pop single and we’re really excited for what danny mcguire will do next.

thank u for making this danny mcguire 🌆

i’ve seen you around – sean macleod

sean macleod’s new single ‘i’ve seen you around’ blends ancient tuning with serene experimental pop

i’ve seen you around is an indie-pop track with an wonderfully unusual, serene quality, shaped by the meeting of ancient sound and modern computer technology. tuned to the pythagorean system, it carries pure tones and a slightly otherworldly calm, while still holding onto macleod’s characteristic instinct for catchy melody and harmonic detail. it’s perhaps his most ambitious single yet, and musical worlds meld in a way that lands beautifully.

friend of the blog sean macleod is a former founding member of dublin band cisco, now releasing solo work that moves through sixties pop, folk, classical and avant-garde influence. the single introduces his coming experimental album we don’t see what that we don’t see, following a wider run of original releases. we’ve been following him closely for the lat year or so, and this one manages to feel philosophical and melodic at once, but curious, considered and strange in the best way. a brilliant single, and we’re very excited for the album.

thank u for making this sean macleod 🔮

step aside – tyler brooker

tyler brooker turns positive momentum into a bright, summer-ready dance-pop zinger

step aside is a fun, energetic dance-pop track with smooth vocals, bright movement and a sunny sense of release. inspired by major lazer, it shakes up tyler brooker’s usual style while keeping the production open, playful and easy to move with from the first hook. the results are great, and this is a big summer stunner if ever we’ve seen one.

tyler brooker is a british artist, producer, youtuber, twitch streamer and software developer who has been releasing music independently since his 2018 debut snake bite. produced by brooker and featuring positive vocals from uk artist phaze music, this release continues a wide creative path that has included bbc introducing support, multiple eps, an album and international chart attention through his bayraktar remix. an impressive cv, but it’s ‘step aside’ which really stands out. a great single, get it on your summer playlist right now.

thank u for making this tyler brooker 🌞
