mortlake – tiger adopt
tiger adopt creates an immersive synth-filled indie wonder filled with tension, atmosphere and emotional release
mortlake builds through the best kind of pulsing synths, textured guitar work and restless rhythms that mirror the track’s emotional intensity. it’s got a wonderful shine to it, the brilliant production shifting naturally between moments of energy and calm, eventually opening into a quite frankly fantastic ambient outro that feels like a release. the single has a hint of danish band mew to it, but it’s also very much in its own lane.
tiger adopt is the london-based project of composer and multi-instrumentalist sam bishop, whose sound blends sixties rock influence, electronic experimentation and introspective songwriting. written across several years and different homes, mortlake explores delayed grief, emotional disconnection and recovery through immersive production and deeply personal lyricism. it’s genuinely brilliant, and should be heard far and wide.

this sad and lonely clown – elderly white man
elderly white man deliver a sharp and anthemic indie pop stunner filled with political melancholy
this sad and lonely clown balances bright melodic hooks with themes of disappointment and emotional collapse, creating a wonderful single that has a hint of the blue nile at their most poppy. or maybe a touch of pulp. either way, it’s great political-leaning indie pop, that’s crafted well, with dark undercurrents running beneath it. for me, the vocal delivery is the standout, while the guitar work is great too.
elderly white man are a portugal-based duo made up of a british and american songwriter, recording and producing music from their studios in caldas da rainha. this latest single continues building towards their forthcoming debut album the empire fell down, a wider reflection on instability, modern collapse and the fragile nature of democracy. despite the heavier themes running through the project, it’s got bags of character and a fantastic single. we can’t wait to get a listen to the album, on the strength of this one.
thank u for making this elderly white man 🎭
roll to g-town – galvezton
galvezton blend dusty americana and coastal indie rock into a wonderfully vivid and transportive release
roll to g-town rolls forward on a brilliantly loose grooves, shimmering reverb and bluesy harmonica lines that instantly place listeners somewhere between open highways and gulf coast sunsets. the track feels warm, hazy and cinematic throughout, capturing the freedom and escapism tied to long drives and restless movement. vocally is where the song really stands out though, it’s compelling and unique stuff; not quite indie, not quite rock, not quite country, but a compelling and heady cocktail of it all.
galvezton is the latest project from texas songwriter robert kuhn, whose deep connection to the galveston bay area shapes both the sound and spirit of the music. blending collage-like experimentation with americana influence, the project reflects the creative energy and culture surrounding the texas coast. roll to g-town has quickly grown into an anthem, driven by its sense of place and laid-back atmosphere. make no mistake, this is a real banger this one.
thank u for making this galvezton 🌊
criminal hour – fringe frontier
fringe frontier deliver direct to the heart, restless indie rock storytelling with sharp hooks
criminal hour surges in with the best brand of crunchy guitars, driving rhythms and restless melodies that perfectly mirror the spiralling energy running through the lyrics. it all feels kinda both playful and emotionally heavy, balancing sharp americana storytelling with a raw indie rock edge that gives every line extra weight. i love the call and answer verses, the answer coming in the form of weird sound effects, and the vocal generally is great, in a plaintive and cute way.
fringe frontier are a southern-rooted indie rock band whose sound blends gritty guitar work, americana influence and emotionally grounded songwriting. criminal hour captures the isolation and overthinking that arrives long after the bars close and the world slows down, turning sleepless anxiety into something strangely addictive and cathartic. ‘i spend my whole life making a plan’ is a great line, but an even better plan is to check out this indie banger right now. more of this please guys.
thank u for making this fringe frontier 🌙
