today’s pop picks moves through warmth, introspection and late-night atmosphere. from soft neo-soul textures to darker electronic edges, these are the pop picks we’re loving today.
factory flowers – lakeside x
lakeside x deliver a stunning dark and driving pop track with striking electronic tension
factory flowers pulses with the best kind of heavy electronic rhythm, layered depeche mode-esque synths, giving the track a strong forward motion. the production is firmly in the industrial-tinged pop space, but there’s a real urgent pop hook in here that will work beyond that scene. i love the production flourishes in this, and like all the best dark pop; there’s a real fragile tone to the vocal. best of all? the chorus absolutely slaps.
lakeside x are a prague-based act with a long-standing presence in the alternative pop space. this release marks a shift towards a heavier, more industrial sound, reflecting on themes of technology and disconnection. years of touring and development have paid off, this is genuinely great.
thank u for making this lakeside x 🌑
say something – nadia maria
nadia maria crafts the smoothest soulful pop cut we’ve heard this year
say something unfolds with soft keys, subtle rhythm and layered vocal harmonies that create a warm, enveloping sound. the production leans into neo-soul and r&b textures, allowing the vocal to remain the focus throughout. its produced like a dream, and has just the right amount of 80s chorus synth and spoken word background flourishes. and critically. it’s all in service of this stunner of a song, which is one of grooviest things we’ve hear this year.
nadia maria is a swiss artist blending pop with soul and electronic influences. this release sits within her debut ep, which explores self-love and personal growth. with a background in classical and jazz performance, she brings strong control and sensitivity to her vocal delivery. i’ll have this on repeat all year.

the laws of life – lois powell & night wolf
lois powell and night wolf craft a dark, shimmering trip hop stunner
the laws of life moves through a dreamy mix of angelic vocals, trip hop beats and subtle electronic textures. compelling plucked strings and soft guitar details add a nervous texture, while a darker synth undercurrent gives the track a sense of tension. it’s another one this week that is produced beautifully, putting me in a sound world that i’d love to hear a full album of.
lois powell and night wolf are a collaborative duo working within dark pop and cinematic spaces. this release continues their creative partnership, focusing on reflective themes and emotional guidance. as well as being a refined and thoughtful addition to their catalogue, it’s really, really beautiful and is a real standout this week.
thank u for making this lois powell & night wolf 🌌
how to be – cargo g
cargo g delivers a beautifully stripped-back pop moment that reaches for the right kind of honesty
how to be centres around minimal production, with soft instrumentation and a steady piano rhythm supporting a uniquely beautiful vocal style. the chords in this are stunning, and the intimate vibe is captured incredibly well, drawing attention to the emotional core of the track. production flourishes work too; the synth surges do a great job at drawing attention back to the standout vocal.
cargo g is a houston-based artist known for blending neo-soul with contemporary pop. this release builds on her previous work while refining her sound into something more focused. exploring themes of identity and emotional awareness, it’s a really, really exciting step forward. essential listening this week.
