there’s a real wit and lyricism at the heart of this one.
zürich-based brit tim chase imagines a future where robots have replaced human songwriters – and somehow makes it feel both funny and quietly devastating at the same time.
lazy, stunning delivery. lush production. there’s almost a little sparklehorse about it too (and honestly, any excuse to mention sparklehorse, i’ll take).
special shoutout to my fave lyric of the month: “let’s make out in the corner while we watch the robots dance”.
the music’s mellow indie rock with a bit of alt-country warmth tucked in there, but it’s the words that steal it for me. clever, understated, properly thought-provoking.
file under: rainy sundays, thinking too much, still smiling anyway.
thank u for making this tim chase x
