till we turn grey – erickoscar
The verdict
“erickoscar turns fifteen years of marriage into a tender country-pop devotion that glows with hard-won warmth”
'till we turn grey' opens like a beautiful story. there's something disarmingly honest about how it unfolds, built on clean acoustic guitar, a clear message and a vocal line that never reaches for anything it doesn't mean. the production keeps things bright without tipping into polish, letting the commercial pop edges lift the country bones underneath. lyrically, it's a catalog of small intimacies, the kind that only surface after years of paying attention to someone. it's a love song that earns its conviction, and that's harder than it sounds.
erickoscar is a cave springs, arkansas based songwriter who grew up around music, his father a singer who filled the house with ballads and love songs. he's spent thirty-five years playing acoustic guitar with his worship band at church, writing over twelve hundred songs along the way. more recently he's been teaching himself production software, learning how to shape arrangements and bring ideas into finished form. and that's lucky for us, because there's something lovely about that kind of devotion finding new ways to speak. lovely stuff.
thank u for making this erickoscar 💍
