DEF NETTLE SHARPEN THEIR MOHAWK

def nettle deliver a stunning, satirical punk-funk snarl

mohawk struts in with a stratospheric level of bite and swagger. it’s all wiry guitars and restless genuine punk groove. it’s produced like a dream, a bit tongue-in-cheek but also razor sharp, poking at punk mythology while still loving all the noise it makes. if you like a little grit in your riffs, with a smidge of humour in the delivery, this is the band for you.

Def Nettle, based in dublin, blend 80s post-punk tension with funk-inflected rhythm and new-wave textures. led by glen brady alongside lisa doyle-taaffe, their sound moves between spoken word, rap cadences, and punchy choruses, nodding to the cure and joy division while carving out something a little more playful and self-aware.

it’s genuinely great, all kinetic and sly. with the right amount of nostalgia, and a wee bit of a contemporary snap, never drifting into imitation. we can’t wait for more, and hope to hear much, much more from these guys.

thank u for making this def nettle ๐Ÿ–ค
