wired euphoria deliver a fizzingly briliant shoegaze punch
lifestyle crashes in with grit and urgency, all distorted edges and wonderfully chaotic energy. this one will definitely rattling around in your head until it needs somewhere to go. and alongside all the distortion, there’s a great melody in this, and like most great noisy stuff – a vulnerability that’s sitting only just underneath the surface.
Wired Euphoria, based in nottinghamshire, england, channel a mix of grunge, shoegaze, and britpop influences into something raw and direct. written, performed, and produced largely by jack cawthorn, with drums from harry barber, the track was recorded between abbey lane studios in derby and jack’s bedroom, giving it that blend of studio polish and a fair dose of diy urgency. you can definitely hear the nods to nirvana and my bloody valentine, but it never feels like imitation. and also, why not wear influeces like that on your sleeve when they’re so good.
as a whole, lifestyle feels loud, cathartic, and i bet it’s great live. big guitars, honest lyrics, and a complete inability to sit still, this is indie rock with its teeth bared. we love it.
thank u for making this wired euphoria 🔥
