a beautifully warm indie pop debut that finds comfort in slowing down
‘around’ feels like a song that knows exactly when not to speak. waltzing in with a soft, max demarco-style gait, it’s soft, unhurried and carrying the calm of a thought you’ve already made peace with. the song settles in beautifully, and honestly, we’re fans before the second verse.
seafront are a birmingham-based indie pop project, rooted in a relaxed diy approach and a love for simple moments. that grounding shows all over this debut. gentle drums, acoustic guitar and a subtle electric glow form a loose, comforting frame, while woody roberts’ vocal stays close and sincere.
at its core, ‘around’ reads like a love letter, but it’s really about choosing what anchors you. the song circles themes of gratitude, repetition and taking the long way on purpose. there’s beauty in the detours here. not to mention the lovely space and restraint here, letting the emotion breathe.
it’s the kind of track we can see doing really well, so we’re happy to share our own love for it.
thank u for making this seafront ❤️
