RYDE TURN STILLNESS INTO A STORM

a cinematic indie moment built on tension, release, and late night resolve

friend of the blog ryde return with “stop the wheel”, a track that gives a sense of holding your breath while the world keeps spinning. it does a fine job of capturing the quiet dread of watching too much unfold, but somehow enjoying the ride.

formed in bristol, ryde shape intimacy and scale in equal measure. close harmonies open the track with a fragile calm, almost lulling you in, before the song fractures into something louder and more urgent. live drums hit with nervous energy, restless and propulsive, while orchestral strings swell around the edges, feeling a little like early elbow-esque vibes. its kinda raw but carefully held together, chaos shaped into form. and it’s genuinely great.

released as their second single, “stop the wheel” leans into the emotional paralysis of the modern moment. isolation, helplessness, and anger sit side by side, but so does a sense of connection. we’ll be watching this lot carefully in 2026.

thank u for making this ryde 🌑
