‘something’ by echomatica feels like a memory surfacing through static. it’s hazy, cinematic, and aching with both distance and closeness. it’s a song that hovers between longing and release.
based in auckland, the four-piece craft expansive dream-pop with dark pop edges, layering shimmering guitars, steady bass, and spectral vocals that drift like echoes across night air. it’s got of the cocteau twins about it, and maybe a touch of Romy Madley Croft in the vocal delivery. Overall though, we’re 100% here for it, and every sound feels deliberate, pulling you deeper into their liminal world.
their second single, taken from their forthcoming debut album, shows a band already fluent in both atmosphere and emotion. it’s restless and hypnotic, and we can’t wait for more.
thank u for making this echomatica ❤️
