THE DOBERMANS DROWN THE NOISE IN GUITAR HISS

‘nothing on the internet’ by the dobermans feels like doomscrolling at 3am with the volume all the way up. static, sneer, and suspicion. it’s punk rock through a cracked screen.

milwaukee-based and entirely self-recorded, this seventh album dives into raw guitar lines, home-made percussion and jagged rhythms that echo early buzzcocks, but melt into something more introspective. there’s genuine beauty to some of the songwriting here, underneath all that noise and urgency, with flashes of smiths-style melancholy and the off-kilter charm of they might be giants. but it’s all bent slightly out of shape, in a lovely dobermans-shaped way.

standout bangers ‘always on’ has the best chorus on the album, and ‘npc love’ bounces along with it’s quirky narrative and almost beck-style percussion.

it’s a full-length release that rejects polish and pretense, a slightly jagged meditation digital decay. we really like it.

thank u for making this the dobermans ❤️
