‘sun to rise’ by friend of the blog stephen foster feels like letting the day in slowly through half-closed blinds. melancholy with grace, intimate without demand – it holds space more than it fills it.
recorded in santa cruz, the ep drifts from soft full-band shimmer to stripped-back, nocturnal hush. there’s a haunting take on “chim chim cher-ee” that reshapes childhood comfort into something beautifully unsteady, and tracks like in our moments feel like journal entries left open on the desk.
the title track is a wee stunner too, probably our favourite. vocally, musically and everything-y, we’re foster fans.
thank u for making this stephen foster ❤️
