GLASS RUMOURS WASH UP SOMETHING BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL

‘the rolling deep blue sea’ by glass rumours – a friend of the blog – feels like trying to writing a poem in the middle of a storm. full of references, ripples, and that specific kind of sadness that sounds like singing into the wind.

recorded from a cruise ship cabin (yes, really), gemma’s voice rises over paul’s swelling production. it’s got that sort of vibey crushed drum verses feel, which that opens out into a banger of a chorus. it’s definitely indie pop with little salt in the seams, and we love it.

this is the final track in their 5-part release, and having checked out the others,it’s their most vulnerable. a love letter to their songwriting heroes. and maybe a message in a bottle to their past selves too.

thank u for making this glass rumours ❤️
