this one hits like a sunbeam through a disco ball. bold, beaming, and strutting with purpose.
based in raleigh, paulo and the problems channel a whole label’s worth of groove into something madly infectious. stupid sexy paulo sways between neo-soul warmth and jazz-tinted hip-hop swagger, with every track stitched tight with joy, cheek and collaboration. the beats bop, the basslines bounce, and the vocals slide like theyβve been dipped in honey and then handed a mic.
it’s also definitely artist name of the week. and deserves some kudos just for that. but luckily, the album – out now on fogwood records – is a full-blown, genre-hopping celebration that stuns. standout banger ‘rest your mind’ moves like summer in motion, with saturday-night confidence with sunday-morning heart. we fucking love it.
thank u for making this paulo and the problems πΆοΈ
