alex forte is a new name to us, and we’re very very glad we’re hearing it. his album morena is rich with warmth and self-belief. jazzy hip hop swirled with soul and sunlight – it’s got a calm confidence that keeps alex forte in our minds this summer.

this album really just flows , sharing stories of identity, belonging, and the beauty of being in-between. the verses just feel kinda lived-in.

musically, it’s a deep blend: bossa nova shimmer, golden-era hip hop grooves, all wrapped in soft percussion and thoughtful rhythm. somehow it’s also very cinematic in the way it moves – inspired by city of god, you can almost see the heat, feel the pulse of the streets.
