indie pop from moscow with a twist of sun-drenched nostalgia

moscow’s pompeya are back with awesome – a smooth, genre-blending five-track ep that feels like stumbling into a pool party hosted by twin shadow and phoenix. if dreamy disco pop is your thing, and it very much is, look no further. it’s full of breezy vocals and laid-back grooves that make it hard not to nod along.

there’s a playfulness at the heart of these songs – from the fluid basslines to the shimmering synths, awesome just feels really good. it reminds us how good a clean, catchy pop hook can feel when it slaps like this.

this is the first instalment of a two-part project, with part two expected later this year – and if this ep is anything to go by, pompeya’s full-length is shaping up to be a stunning, sun-soaked listen.
