richard tyler epperson’s new record ‘fragmented night’ is a comfort blanket for those weird, late-evening moments when you’re not quite reaaallly sad, but you’re definitely feeling something.

it’s all soft glow, wrapping around you, indie-pop meets alt-rock, with the emotional openness of someone whoe’s been through it.

‘let’s drive’ brings the sing-along energy, but tracks like ‘i love it when it’s late’ slow the pulse just enough to feel close. fans of kevin devine, greg laswell or late-era death cab will find a lot to like here.
