today’s postbox brought some proper riffage.
chicago’s rosetta west blend big stoner rock energy with a flicker of something more delicate.
and with the release coincides with the holy day of beltane, and it weirdly fits.
i remember losing my shit at the beltane fire festival on top of calton hill in edinburgh – great times. the music there was more naked people with drums, but this sludgy rocker’s bringing the same primal energy in a different key.
circle of doubt hits hard – thick, sludgy guitars, lyrics full of loss and fighting spirit, and a vocal that teeters between raw power and haunted reflection.
it’s not subtle, and it’s not trying to be. but underneath all the noise, there’s something quite beautiful going on.
thank u for making this rosetta west x
