almost 40 years on from C86, and a quarter of a decade since ‘is this it’, the question is this. what is indie in 2025? well, i guess you know it when you hear it.

this latest sad banger from dream jeans fits the bill perfectly. sad vocal, ill-fitting jeans, sort of slack vibes but also genuinely touching. production has a sparklehorse slant that im a fan of. this is just really good, and excitingly, it follows an arguably an even bigger banger ‘i like together’.

dream jeans bio talks about ‘being broad and genre spanning’, but – if i had one – my vote would be on making eight other bangers just like this for an album. high hopes that it would be fucking brilliant.
