i basically love songs that are called camera.

there’s one really good one by de rosa – the third best ever scottish band – but now ethan gold has a really good one too.

it’s got ethereal vocals, a pretty epic noise guitar solo and maybe just a touch of pink floyd in that weird 70s pompeii dvd. no extroverty excess here though, this really is a dreamy, inward banger decrying the universe’s decay.

i get the impression ethan is a bit worried about the world, which resonates of course, cos the world is a bit fucked. but leaving aside a broken world, it’s a really appealing piece of work, and i also really love the talking heads-style b side ‘i’m in the mooon’.
